Walt Disney World – Booking Process

It is a Sunday and I am sat watching Pocahontas – so I thought I would write the first post on our forthcoming trip to Disney World!!

This will look at the booking side and I will write about Planning, Packing and a Travel Blog of each day we are there… I think we are going to Vlog as well… if I can pluck up the courage.

Ever since me & Dan started our relationship and realised our mutual obsession love for Disney, we knew we had to take a trip to Disney World together.

Last year with the Wedding, all of our money went towards that so we decided 2017 was the year for Disney and on January 1st, there are always deals with Travel Agents so we sat down and looked at them… Virgin Holidays are absolutely amazing at Disney Packages and this is what we went for:

  • 14 Nights @ Disney All Starts Movies Hotel (Value Resort)
  • Virgin Atlantic Flights
  • 14 for 7 Disney Park Tickets (Pay for 7 Days but get 14)
  • 3 Park Universal Studios Tickets
  • Car Rental
  • Disney Dining Plan (1 Quick Service Meal, 1 Table Waited Meal, 1 Snack, Refillable Drinks – Per Person Per Day)
  • 3 Ride Fast Passes Per Person Per Day
  • Memory Maker – Photos taken for free around the parks (with characters and rides) and downloadable from an app.

I think this Disney Dining Plan is incredible -it is pretty much Disney All Inclusive, which means you don’t have to take lots of money for food on top of the price of the Holiday.

We also received a £600 discount because of the Virgin Sale.

So with Hotel, Flights, Car, Park Tickets, Food the total cost was £4600 – yes that is a lot of money but for Disney it is actually really really good.

We decided to go in September, once the kids go back to school so the parks will be a lot quieter but it will still be really warm – we fly out from Gatwick on Saturday 9th September!

Around 2 months ago I kept reading bad reviews of All Stars and I thought if we are going to spend a lot of money, I want it to be the most amazing holiday we have ever had!!! I decided to save up a bit extra and upgrade Dan & myself to the Port Orleans French Quarter Resort, which has exceptional reviews and truly encapsulates the Disney magic. It is also based on New Orleans and Princess and the Frog is one of my favourite Disney films – they even serve Tiana’s famous beignets at Breakfast!!!

This was £700 extra so the total came to £5300.

We have 30 days until we fly out & I can honestly say I have never been more excited for anything in my life!

A x

  1. As someone who lives in Orlando, 5000 for 14 days at Disney and Universal with everything included is such a great deal!!! Like seriously! The meal plans make it so affordable, cause without it the prices are outragious. Make sure to try Eddy’s icecream on Main Street at Magic Kingdom- it’s so good on a hot day!

    1. Same here, I’ve been a few times with my parents and I know I loved it but I cannot remember any of it! Now I can regress to being a kid again for 2 weeks and actually remember it all!xx

  2. I am extremely jealous…I can honestly say I find it absurd that I have never been to a Disney park!!!! We are planning to save up and take Rory for a Christmas. Great deal you’ve got, I love Virgin!!! We booked our wedding with them, such good packages and service.
So excited for you, you will love it. Look forwards to your blog and vlog if you pluck up enough courage xxx

  5. You’ll have a great time! Been to Disney world 6 times growing up and the dining plan is great from our experience. Now I live 45 mins away from Disney, how things change. Take lots of pics and love every minute! Oh and get some rain macs just incase 😁
