August Favourites… kind of.

Guys I’ve got a confession… I’ve done shit all this month. Shit all. I’ve literally lounged about, eating crisps and watching Netflix… it’s been glorious. Due to my laziness, I haven’t got any many favourites other than what I have been watching whilst doing my best Sloth impression. So please accept my deepest apologies before we get started, as this post is literally just going to be my Favourite Netflix Watches in August. September will be more interesting I promise, I have actually ventured out this weekend. P.S I hated it.

I don’t know about you guys but I like to rate programmes on their bingeability… I want to be so engrossed in a TV programme that Netflix rudely interrupts and asks the most passive aggressive parental question… “Are you still watching?” Yes, yes I am and don’t give me that tone of voice Netflix let me live my life. Also… don’t fuckin interrupt my TV ever again. K?

I shall rate the below series (not the film) on a Binge Scale, just in case you are sad and have no life like me.

The Innocents

Runaway teen lovers June and Harry find themselves swept up in a dangerous and confusing new world when June begins to display mysterious abilities.

I really liked this. It was like a coming of age love story mixed with the supernatural. A couple of bits were a bit repetitive but I really enjoyed the build up & the climax was fantastic. I would definitely recommend it.

Binge Scale – 8/10 – we finished it in a day.

All The Boys I’ve Loved Before

When her secret love letters somehow get mailed to each of her five crushes, Lara Jean finds her quiet high school existence turned upside down.

Netflix are KILLING the Rom Com game at the minute and I am living for it. I have watched this film 3 times since it went up on Netflix and I love it more and more each time. I am a sucker for any Teen Drama and this was a brilliant one. Also, Peter Kavinsky… am I right? AM I RIGHT???

Rating – 8.5/10 – Beautiful Teen Rom Com.

London police detectives Cassie Stuart and Sunny Khan investigate historic cold cases involving missing persons, murder and long-hidden secrets.

This is a BBC Drama that I actually hadn’t seen until Series 3 was trailered on TV & I thought it looked really good. I am big fan of a gritty British crime dramas – Broadchurch, Line of Duty, Happy Valley and The Missing being my favourites. I had a look through Netflix and saw the previous 2 seasons were on there so we thought we would give it a watch. Each series covers a historic murder and there are so many twists and turns, it is fantastic. The acting and storylines are some of the best I’ve watched. If you like the series I have mentioned above, then you will love this.

Binge Scale – 10/10 – watched all 3 series in a week.

Queer Eye

Grab some tissues! An all-new “Fab Five” serve up hip tips, emotionally charged makeovers and heartfelt reveals that bring out all the feels.

I know. I am so late to the game with this programme and I am sure you have all already seen it but I couldn’t not mention it. I have never laughed, cried or been so full of the feels when watching something. This was the most beautifully, enlightening, heartwarming programme I have ever seen. I feel educated, love and happiness after every episode. They are just the most amazing men, spreading an important message in a world that really needs it. Just a wonderful programme.

Binge Scale – 10/10 – watched in 2.5 Days and I would re watch all the episodes again. I listen to JVNs podcast and watched all their talks on YouTube. They speak to my god damn soul.

The end of the fucking world

A budding teen psychopath and a rebel hungry for adventure embark on a star-crossed road trip in this darkly comic series based on a graphic novel.

Another coming of age teen drama but unlike The Innocents this is a dark comedy. It is absolutely hilarious – I loved Alyssa, I thought she was mesmerising to watch and I loved the internal monologues. It was brilliant and I am very happy it has been renewed for a second series.

Binge Scale – 8/10- watched over a week.

What do you think about these programmes, have you seen them? Love to know what you thought? Any recommendations for September?

So guys, sorry I am such a boring lazy bitch but that has pretty much been my life this month. You will be happy to know I’ve brought a fuck load of make up this weekend so unless it is a bag of shit, I should have a much better September Favourites.

A x

  2. Hey! I don’t mind binge-watching recommendations at all, you are not a boring bitch!! ♡

I had no idea The End of The Fing world was renewed for a second season!! I loved Alyssa too but do not want to see the boy in prison or dead so I was hoping they’d not continue the series!
