I don’t know about you but I love YouTube. It is fantastic. I have learnt how to cook certain recipes. How to braid my hair. How to put on Make Up. Where I should travel. Conspiracy Theories. The amount of unfiltered information is endless and I find it fascinating.
I watch YouTube everyday (I am watching as I type it) and I probably watch Vlogs/Story Time or Make Up related content the most. I love reality TV and think that’s why I love Vlogs specifically. I grew up with Big Brother/The Hills/Laguna Beach/Jersey Shore and I find the sociology behind these programmes incredibly interesting. Where Reality TV has become far more staged and filtered, YouTube has continued to stay more “real” I know it isn’t completely but it feels like reality TV did back in the day.
I become attached to certain YouTubers & it really feels as though you know them. My favourites are people I want to be friends with, have things in common with or make me laugh. I find you become completely invested in that person and their life and that’s crazy… we don’t know these people but we are so consumed in every aspect of their life and make them celebrities, even though a lot of them don’t particularly have a talent. I would love to write a sociological study on that because it really is fascinating.
Anyway I am rambling…these are my favourite YouTube Channels by Category.
I love him. I trust his opinion on Make Up and Skin Care – he makes me die with laughter and most importantly he is amazing at make up.
Tim and Jen’s videos are amazing if you are a Disney/Universal/Busch Gardens fan. They are in the parks almost everyday and provide great content and park updates. Really useful to watch if you are planning a Disney World Trip.
Another Disney Channel ( I am sure you aren’t surprised) but the DFB covers everything to do with food on Disney property. It is SO helpful when planning a trip, we followed so much of their advice. Planning a Disney trip can be so overwhelming when it comes to food but they make it easy.
Good Mythical Morning is one of the first channels I watched. Rhett and Link are so entertaining and I love their Will It challenges. Their friendship is just GOALS and they make me laugh everyday.
Like I said in the beginning of this post, YouTubers have become celebrities but with out an actual “talent” for the most part and because of this, I think you need someone like JaackMaate to bring them back down to earth. Some would say Jack’s channel is a drama channel but I think he is just a smart and funny guy telling the truth and we really need that in this weird Social Media age.
Brogan is the most relatable and wonderful YouTuber, she should have so much more than 50 thousand subscribers. The effort in her editing, and footage especially in travel vlogs is incredible. I love watching Brogan’s videos, she is wonderful and you can tell how hard she works to bring amazing content to her subscribers.
Shane is a YouTube legend, he has been on the platform for 15 years. Shane has evolved his channel and has become a creator, a producer, a writer and is so incredibly talented. The way he has pushed his Channel into series based content (jumping on the netflix bandwagon) but making it unrestricted or unbiased, is so incredibly smart. I admire him and I want to be his friend, I love watching his videos and I love his friends (especially Garett). Just love him.
Who are your favourite YouTubers? Do you like or dislike any of those I have mentioned?
